This
wonderful rustic desk is made of a huge white pine slab from the
Oregon Mountains.
The legs and other adjoining members are yellow birch cut
from my own property in the Adirondack Mountains, in New
York State. The unique panels in the desk are made of solid
wood and applied leather, having raised turquoise stars and
diamonds trimmed with leather fringe.
The chair is made of yellow birch poles also from New
York State, and the seat and back of the chair are made from Canary
Wood; grow on a special tree plantation in South America.
All of the wood is dried in a kiln, then by air for over
3 years. The top part of the desk is removable for ease in
transport and shipping, and sets in place using solid 3/8"
x 3" steel rods under each leg post.
Shed elk antlers and an antique snowshoe are then added
to create the ultimate Rustic look.
The finish used is a combination of linseed and tung
oils, and then 5 coats of hard satin polyurethane were applied
for the top surfaces and hand rubbed.
This set is one of a kind, signed, and numbered and will
always be treasured as a fine heirloom. $6500.
Custom orders are gladly accepted.
