Rustic Store started in 1998 by Jim Howard. He began the site primarily to sell his Rustic Furniture online. Jim's very first web-site started in 1997 when a good friend of his, Charlie, convinced him in 1995 that the internet was going to be big, real big. Neither of them even owned computers back then. He kept telling Jim to make movies of himself making rustic furniture and sell the videos on the internet. Well, Jim finally gave in and did what he suggested and he and Charlie became partners, so to speak, in the venture. They called it RusticVideos.com. Eventually they had over 30 instructional videos of Jim making rustic furniture, flying seaplanes and Charlie making decorative decoys in his garage in Maine. They finally dropped all of the home grown videos from the site even though they sold 100's of them. Jim said he just got tired of making VHS dubs at home. People loved the tapes and Jim says they have helped, and started many people into rustic furniture making because of them. Jim still makes rustic furniture and has his hands into many other things and projects as well. Here is a list below of some of the many websites Jim has developed and maintains.
